For over 50 years, the Booker Prize has been one of the most respected literary awards in the world, celebrating outstanding fiction in English. Past winners include Salman Rushdie, Kazuo Ishiguro, Margaret Atwood and Hilary Mantel.

This year's shortlist will be announced on Tuesday 23 September, with the winner crowned on Monday 10 November.
